Welcome to Maji na Ufanisi

Sustainability

The program is prepared using a participative approach and will be implemented through this approach. The program works actively with the national and county governments, media, CSO’s and communities putting the emphasis on developing their performance and capacities in the sector.

This approach ensures meaningful participation and creates a lasting sense of as well as continuity of relevant activities supported by the program, beyond any project period the projects are passed on to the communities who have received adequate capacity building during the project period to adequately manage the project after exit. The project takes into consideration all the facets of sustainability (environment, social-economic and institutional) as well as gender issues. Moreover, updating the knowledge of water resources and their environmental and socioeconomic aspects will have very constructive impacts on strengthening the countries capacity to manager water and natural resources effectively.

MnU's WASHEM model is self sustaining.

Youths are trained in financial management and savings allowing them to manage the facilities, get employed and improve their livelihoods.

For the last 22 years, Maji na Ufanisi has focused on provision of sustainable solutions to challenges of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in public spaces; to communities in urban informal settlements and the marginaliszed rural areas of Kenya.
